Third Annual Construction Appreciation Week To Take Place Sept 14-18

SEPT. 14 – I Build America hosts its third annual Construction Appreciation Week on Sept 14-18. The week-long campaign aims to bring awareness to the more than 10 million hard working men and women imperative to this dynamic workforce. 

Companies around the world celebrate the large impact the industry has on the economy, society, and the lives of American people. Founded in 2018, the national movement has gained traction over the years, specifically on social media, it focuses on generating the pride within the culture, educating the public on the values of construction and unifying the industry regardless of company size or specialty. 

Business across the country are sharing their stories using the hashtags #ibuildamerica and #thanskforbuilding to show their support. The organization partners with many national companies including The Associated General Contractors of America and HCSS. 

With founding members like CAT, Granite and Trimble, I build America encourages young professional to pursue a career in construction. Construction Appreciation Week highlights the benefits to working in construction, whether it be physical labor, product development, or service management. 

Construction Appreciation Week and Construction Safety Week will run simultaneously, with disruptions by COVID-19 forcing dates to be pushed back. 

With 10.3 million construction workers in the U.S, the industry brought in $2 trillion dollars in 2019 according to (study). Construction represents 4.7% of the total GDP in America.  

Employees and employers are encouraged to share their experiences within the industry. The organization provides social media templates and tools available to download for an interactive experience. Participants can use the hashtags #ibuildamerica and #thanksforbuilding on the social channels.
